Autumn ... in pieces

Hello again folks. Things are nearly back to normal in the household here. My son gets his cast off this week .... yayyyyy. Instead of me struggling to do his chores - hubby has stepped up and done some as well because there is a shortage of paying jobs out there. Means more time at my crafting table for me .... can't be bad.
This week I bring you a wall hanging. Not so much halloweenie this time but in celebration of autumn - the season. I had in mind 2 challenges whilst making this. The first being the October challenge over on Smeared and Smudged forum - paying homage to one of the Goddesses of Harvest. The second was the GCSP5: Blue Moon Challenge - Quilt Patterns. The patchwork design I have used here is known as a pineapple and there is faux stitching at strategic places - the quilting.
The image origin is unknown as was in a fantastic RAK I recieved last month. The frame is a diecut that I inked and stamped little leaves on. The leaves in a variety of autumn colours are die cuts as well. The entire "quilt" was then attached to a few more layers onto which was also stamped leaves - I even mitred the corners! A couple of eyelet hanging holes attached and strung with some brown ribbon threaded through with copper and some coppery organza ribbon, knotted together. There you have it.

I am also entering this into the Creative Inspiration challenge for their Autumn/Fall challenge.

  2. Super card Helen. I've not seen you around much on CMLI but I guess today's post goes some way to explaining that. Hope all goes well with your sons cast and we get to see more of you!
