Day 8 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en with Smudgy Antics

Well I thought I'd never make it this far but so far I have kept up with the blogging though not, unfortunately, with commenting. The few blogs I have visited have been showing some amazing pieces of art.
If you are stumbling on this blog from other parts, may I suggest you have a look at the blog roll on my right hand side bar and go see the delights being offered up as eye candy after checking out all the info at the Smeared and Smudged forum here and at Terra's blog - here.
This post is also my DT piece for the Smudgy Antics Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge is

MOVIE MADNESS

As this is the run up to Hallowe'en and it's Smudgy Antics - Horror Movies, Dark Comedies and the like would be expected to be seen depicted.

For my piece I have used one of the new images available in the shop. Drawn by our very own Ike.
"Black Widow" from the set "Movie Madness"

This is my first attempt at creating a digital piece. It ended up as a hybrid as I couldn't work out the shading I wanted for the Black Widow image. This ended up being coloured in pencils and adding. The rest of it done in GIMP. (No PS here)
The paper is from Crafty Chaos .

So two things are needed now from you lovely people - depict a film in a dark and mysterious way and come link it up at the Smudgy Antics blog and also get on with that hopping.

  7. Well, I would never guess that this is your first digital piece - it's fabulous. Great title and very well interpreted! Wish I could give you some tips on shading but shading into white is hard - colors not so much!
