Bats In The Belfry

If you're looking for today's Smeared and Smudged 31days of Hallowe'en post - just scroll down one post.

If you're looking for the Haunted Design House post - you found it :)
The subject of both posts, though, are similar - Dark, Hallowe'en type

Monday (nearly) always brings my Macabre Monday post. This week is no exception.
The challenge this week is

BATS IN THE BELFRY
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that has anything to do with a bats.  Think belfries, church steeples and all round general battiness!

So what did I make?

Anyone with a cricut and the Happy Hauntings cart will recognise the Haunted House created here. My son helped me out here by glueing together most of the pieces yesterday whilst I was at work. Apparently it "wasn't the easiest job attempted"  Thank you Ben.

I needed something to go with the 3-D bats I had created with the image from Batcula from Rick St Dennis.

Each bat is made up of 6 layers, back and front the same. Once I had cut all 24 bits out and glued them together, with a wire down the centre for hanging from, I sprayed with home made mica mist made from purple perfect pearls, black DI and water. Then using a red wire (just the colour that came out the drawer first) attached the bats in various positions around the house. No doubt I'll end up making more bats, but time ran out on me this weekend.

Thank you for visiting and hope to see you all come visit Haunted Design House and show us your Batty projects.

I'd like to enter this into the challenge over at
Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes/Hallowe'en
Polka Doodles - Wings and Things
The Cupboard Trilogy - Things with Wings
