Under the Sea

In A Sweet Pea Dream challenges set the challenge of "Under The Sea". I am trying to stock pile a few birthday cards for those "in a hurry" times. The stamp is the only mermaid one I have from SweetPea and although I used it a few weeks ago, I have changed both the colour scheme and layout.

To emphasise the "Under the Sea" of the challenge, I have used a recessed window in which to site the main image.
She is coloured primarily with promarkers with just a hint of pearlised paints to highlight.

The main BP is from the Mint Choc Chip Muddle set of Crafty Chaos' delicious papers. (Slightly digitally changed to get a colour I wanted better). The lines are so similar to the tail of our mermaid, it screamed "Use Me".
The two octogons were cut from half a sheet of a DP recieved in a RAK so do not know the origin - sorry. These were backed with some holographic miri as was the sentiment. That was stamped in green stazon on a scrap left over of the main BP.

The recipe I followed was that over on Sparkles Forum Challenges. 5 Gems, 4 Brads, 3 Flowers, 2 Buttons, 1 Ribbon/bow. The buttons are used in the middle of two of the flowers (all home made)

The whole thing was then finished off with some wavy line peeloffs.

The challenges I am entering this into are on
In A SweetPea Dream - the theme "Under Water"
Sparkles Forum - The recipe
The City Crafter are wanting to see our hand made flowers - well there's 2 different sorts on here so I' entering that challenge as well.
Pixie Dust Studio are also wanting a button or few for their challenge this week. My buttons are on my flowers.
2 Sisters Challenges are having a flower request so am entering this into that challenge

New stash

I was lucky enough to find a couple of core-dinations stacks going cheap the other day, as well as a couple of new stamps and bits. This is the first day I've had a chance to play.
While I was looking at the Sweet Pea stamps, I did a little detour into Ching-Chou Kuik's website.
There are a couple of freebie images that I downloaded. The angel policy states no selling on, but that's not the purpose I wanted them for. I wanted to try out a new way of colouring hair. This image seemed ideal for my purpose. Also I got to play with one of my new stamps :)

Next was to actually put these onto something. Following the sketch over at Diva Coffee Break Designs this little card was born. Another new thing for me - a DL sized card. Not sure if it entirely worked with the sizes here, oh well.

You can just see the sketchy in there
