Cute card thursday 109

Here I go again. Couldn't resist this image from Sugar Nellie's digital range.
Entering it into the Cute card Thursday challenge, isn't she gorgous? The embellishments are all from Crafty Feeling and the papers all digi's. Shame the pic shows the cream of the butterflies and flower as yellow - light was all wrong :(
Blame it on the meds - I forget things so easily. Dohhhhhhhhh I already entered one - oh well. I won't feel offended if you have a little giggle over this.

Digi Tulips

Loved the image from Birdscards. Just had to do something with it. Ended up with a simple 2 layer decoupage and my PM's together with some papers from my scrap box. The little dew drops from Crafty Feeling finished it off. Entering this into the Dare U 2 Digi Friday challenge which is flowers this week.

Monday 26 April 2010

Here I am, searching through the stamps available and trying to narrow down my wish list, I happen to visit the Sir Stampalot Blog as well as the shop and Simon Says. A challenge - woo hoo, and fantasy/with wings to boot. Just had to enter this card made this weekend. And it also fits into Caardvarks criteria as well. So entered it into there.
Hope people like it as much as I enjoyed making it.
And no - I cut the shapes by hand - no cutting machine here...... yet.

Cute card

Have had this image of Tilda in an envelope just itching to get out and get "a treatment". Cute Card Thursday gave me the impetus to actually do it. I think I'm finally getting to grips on the PM's with the few colours I have and just had to use some of the yummy ribbon from Crafty Feeling. Papers are all digital d/loads.

Friday 23 April 2010

Sketch Saturday was another site I visited on my travels through cyber space this week. They have so many beautiful DT cards there. But having just got this free cute bashful bear from Cuddly Buddly - I had to use it.

Note to self - next big purchase - a cutting machine - those flower shapes cut by hand!!! lol

Thursday 22 April 2010

Looking at the duckponds blog for the eagerly awaited new tilda cards to be shown off, there was a mention for the Craftrange.com blog.
True to form off I go for a nosey. Wow. Looks like they'll have an order from me when I get paid.
They are well and truely worth a gander and cos it's their blog's 1 yr anniversary in a couple of days they have some candy up for 1 lucky recipient.

Digi stamping

I have been blog hopping again. I hope it never ceases to amaze me the variations on the same theme.
With my FM being as it is this week I haven't ventured further than the rubbish bin.
I wanted to practice with my PM's, I have ink in my printer, some card stock and paper and a pc. I'll have a go at digi stamping. Can resize if I want... what could be easier? Dare U 2 digi stamp have a friday challenge. Why not show my effort? So here it is. All digitally produced from papers downloaded from a few free sites teamed up with stamps from DZ doodles and countless joy. Had fun which is the main thing. The metal embellishment from stash and I used some wire twisted with a seed bead for the butterflys' antenae.

Pastel Christmas cards

Signed off sick again with my FM causing me major issues again. Still I can sit for 30 mins or so and craft before falling foul of the meds side effects. Made a selection of Christmas cards to go with my collection, prompted by Christmas Cards All Year Round. Still waiting on approval from admin to enter them onto the gallery though. They're there on the left for anyone to see them in the meantime.
Keep looking for Quackas' magnolia creations. Postie must be limping by now, hehehe. I don't envy him this time of year. Got to be almost as bad as Christmas.
BBL hopefully

My First Shaker Card

2 things prompted this. Main one was the fact friends have been gifted another granddaughter. The other was this weeks Creative Craft Challenge.
A Shaker card with a baby theme. Combine the two. Why not?
So heading to the free digi images I have accumulated, due to lack of funds mostly, I came up with this. With a bloom from Crafty Feelings of course.
I might have found a use for all those seed beadsand sequins I collected during my cross-stitching years! Hardest thing to do was take a pic without the glare from the plastic, oh well.
While blog hopping........ found this great site Flourishes
and thought "why not?" So Mr linky was put to use again.

Jaz coloured this one

Not been on here for a few days, my FM has reared it's ugly head again :( Offical diagnosis from doc is that the shoulder and neck muscles cramping make the muscles on the scalp follow hence the vice that has attached itself to my brain. Apparently this is what's causing the loss of balance and not being able to see. Luckily the later is very short lived lasting only a matter of seconds, but it's put me back on the sick til the pills help me control it again.
Was feeling a bit better yesterday due to the muscle relaxants so finished off the image Jaz coloured in for Sarah's birthday card, (that's Ben's g/f), only needed to mount it. I did cut of Tild'a antenae and replace with seed beads on some wire. Artistic licence, hehe. Just thought I'd share this so you all can see how clever my daughter is :D. (Proud mum here)
All the lace, ribbons and papers from stash.

Saturday 10 April 2010

Oh yes and one more I made this weekend. I finally succumbed and bought a few promarkers and have been practicing. I'm not confident to do Tilda justice just yet but I had a couple of Sugar Nellie images given to me by my best friend Karen. I think I've just about managed to do them justice. Anyway had to have something to use the beautiful blooms from Crafty Feeling that came today. Thankyou so much, they are gorgous.

I used a lace making stencil for the border and a border punch for the little bit of vellum peeking out behind.

Blog hopping again. Just looking at all the beautiful cards out there and wondering if I'll ever be that good. Came across a new way (to me) of putting easel cards together. KL StampinN Scrappin have a tutorial on origami drawers. I can do that me thinks. Half way through, daughter Jaz comes in and asks if it can be turned into a birthday card for her mum-in-law, 'cos she liked it so much. So that's what it's turned into. Here's my effort.

All papers are computer printed

Nearly didn't make this

An old friend's big birthday coming up....... and then rushed to hossy with chest pains :( Then the best news of the weekend - all's good, was a false alarm :D. Back to thinking caps on...... What do you make for a 70yr old ex-band member male. Then inspiration thundered into my sleeping brain... he's an aging rocker - of course ........ so from 1 old rocker to another......... this big A4 card was born.
I don't often use mirri but this seemed to be appropriate with papermania to help cut out the glare. I like decoupage (can you tell) so the chair was put together and a bit of computer magic made a music sheet under some vellum. Add a few brads and I had one happy recipient.

Paper piecing - football crazy

Friend at work asked me to make a birthday card for a family member who is football mad. While blog hopping came across another challenge site that has some beautiful designs entered by people from all over the world. Thought I'd give peeps a chance to see my effort if they want. The recipient of the original card was over the moon apparently :)

It's a tri-folded card with the same picture on all 3 front faces, the diagonal cut giving the illusion of more dimension.

uses redbook image decoupaged

Creative Craft Challenges

Why not have a go? That was my thought. Making cards anyway. And I do so love different ways of folding the "base card" so chose this 1 to display. The link is on the left for anyone else that wants to have a peek.

Yo ho ho

Thought while I was here and t'internet is not behaving toooooooooo badly, I'd upload a few of the crimble cards I've done so far to p/bucket. Yeeees I know it's early, buuuuuuuuut, didn't want a rush later in the year. You don't have to look :P
Christmas Album

Yesterday

Well I bit the bullet and went to visit my mum and dad yesterday. For those that don't know me well - not a job I look forward to. It was their 55th wedding anniversary, so a bit of a special day for them. I actually got offered a cup of coffee!! AND a bit of cake!!!! I was more than a bit astonished, lol. I had made them a card and was pleasantly surprised to receive appreciation from my mother. I did manage a couple of hours before making my excuses and had to rest up after with a blinding headache, probably stress related. Well that's my duty done for a while though. pic of the card I made attached.
