Freebie Time Again at Sparkle and Glitter

Morning all,
I hope the recent bad weather being experienced in a lot of areas is not finding you nor hampering your creative spirits. I hope you are healthy, safe, warm and dry
It's the first Saturday of the month today and that normally heralds in the Rick St Dennis Freebie Challenge held over at either Sparkle and Glitter or Airless Chambers. This month it's at Sparkle and Glitter again.
The freebie that came out with this month's newsletter is available at Rick's Zibbet store as well here if you missed out. To get on that mailing list you need to sign up on Rick's blog.
The image this month has a name - Baby Bacchus. All the EDT have been busy and created some spectacular eye candy using him.
For my part, I made a card.
Firstly, I coloured the little faun with promarkers,
Then using the sketch over at the Outlawz Wednesday's Sketch Challenge as inspiration constructed this card
The pearlised red card base was stamped with a vine like stamp (Lavinia stamps) using clear embossing ink and dusted with rich gold pan pastel. The kraft coloured centre panel embossed with "budding vine" folder before rubbing over with more of the clear embossing ink and dusting with light gold pan pastel.
Some vine type leaves, a couple of pins, some purple pearls and a basket charm added to complete

These leaves are my attempt at making my own with my new paper clay from Santa

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at

Rick St Dennis Freebies

Morning folks.
I hope you have all regained peace and quiet after the school holidays. The schools re-opened their doors a few weeks ago in Scotland, but I know that some schools are only just starting the new term. I remember the frantic uniform buying like it was only yesterday - my little devils darlings are a few years too old for that now **happy dance**. How many of those sparkly new uniforms are going to last until 2014? How many patches will be needed in those knees?
There are, of course, some of you that don't have children; but you were one once. To remind us of those days gone by and, for some, those days yet to pass; a couple of cheeky images from Rick St Dennis MFA.

Now, if you are a subscriber to Rick's Newsletter, you will have received this gorgeous pair of angels, well Bitsy isn't showing her best side right this moment, but she is/looks like an angel when asleep. Buddy on the other hand looks like your typical teacher's pet. Both images will be available in Rick's Etsy shop shortly.
If you're not already a subscriber to the Newsletter, why not? A couple of new images a month for free from Rick and a heads up on all the up and coming events. Daft not to be when all it takes is to send an email to Rick with your email address in the text. For more info. it's available on Rick's blog. There will be no more freebies available on the blogs because of the unkind people that share them on Pinterest. It was a hard decision to make but digi theft has become a major concern for many artists, not just Rick. So, if you want to continue benefiting from Rick's generosity, the subscription to the emailed Newsletter is a necessity. Also, I nearly forgot to mention, the monthly challenges where there is the possibility of winning yet more images from Rick start again next month. You will need the freebie to enter.

We always look forward to seeing your projects on facebook and Papercraft Planet. Please come along and show us what you make.

The girls of the EDT have got together and made a few projects featuring this month's freebies. The diversity of the projects only highlights how versatile this pair are.
The Airless Chambers blog features our naughty little girl in more detail and on Sparkle and Glitter - Buddy.

My projects are an altered notebook with naughty Bitsy and a bookmark to go with it with Buddy.

Papers were free digis from a couple of years ago. Sorry I can't remember the source. Some Visible Image Stamps and a MS webby border punch
 Both images coloured with promarkers.
This book mark is actually a Bazzill Basics Christmas paper but I love the earthy tones of it. Teamed up with some felt letters that were in a recent RAK received. Thank you Susan xxx

Please do come and show us the projects that you made with this pair.
Stay tuned also for news on a blog hop that is being planned. Next month - Hallowe'en month - there will be loads going on in Airless Chambers. Put October 1st in your diary to visit.

I'd like to enter both this altered notebook and book mark into the challenge at

Creative Corner Challenges - Childs Play

It's FREEBIE Saturday

The tradition was started a couple of months ago whereby Rick St Dennis would post some freebie digis on the first Saturday of a month to the blogs Sparkle & Glitter with Rick and to Airless Chambers. The more traditional image for everyday use to the Sparkle & Glitter and the edgier image to Airless Chambers. Today is that first Saturday and hence the posts have gone up. Not only is there the opportunity to snag two fabulous images from the pen of Rick but also a chance to win more. All that is needed is for projects to be made using these images and to be linked up to the respective blogs so that the EDT members can come along to your blogs and leave some bloggy love. We will then choose the projects to win and more images will be awarded to the artist that created those projects. Simple! For more details, you'll have to visit both blogs.
For my contribution to the mix of amazing projects from my fellow EDT members I have made a card with Desdemona, who can be found on the Sparkle & Glitter Blog. Then an ATC with the little Running Skull Man found on Airless Chambers.

first up: DESDEMONA
Isn't she a beauty! Coloured with promarkers, added accents with sparkly gel pen and some green stickles  before mounting on some BP from Bobunny, weekend market collection. Some glitter card mats with some old green BP in between that I have stashed away (donated to my stash when I first started card making and not well loved lol). All mounted onto some pale cream homemade paper then the card base. The doilies, again old stash. The sketch used for inspiration can be found on Sweet Sketch Wednesday and the doilies fitted nicely into it.
The flourishes are cut from more of the glitter card with a TH die. Flowers are from stash with a blingy brad to hold together.
A close-up of our leading lady
Next we have this cute little Skully Running Man
Again, coloured with promarkers before mounting onto an ATC.
He kind of reminded me of Jim Carey in The Mask - hence the green colouration.
The ATC bg is a stamp from a "Darcie's" set featuring a picture of a haunted house. This was stamped with glue before applying gilding flakes. The sentiment is from the same set and the tag it's on can be swung up behind our little man. A kind of "secret message".

Now get on over to the Sparkle & Glitter and Airless Chambers blogs and snag those freebies. While you're there, do have a wonder through some of the amazing tutorials that have been posted on each. Don't forget to leave Rick some love. He really appreciates it as you can well imagine.

I'd like to enter my Desdemona card into the challenge at
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Used their inspirational sketch
Bloggers Challenge - To Die for - Use a die cut

My ATC and my card both fall into the criteria over at Left of Centre Challenges so will be entering them into their challenge of LOC and/or two designer papers.
