More Wedding projects made

As a lot of yu will know, planning a wedding is very stressful and, of course, the outlay can spiral. My daughter couldn't find a lot of the bits she wanted to use at a reasonable cost so asked for my help. What mum wouldn't? First up was a postbox she had bought in kit form. So that the guests could post comments etc on the day.

The little baubles hanging on the wall were purchased blank Christmas baubles - using half a bauble for each

Table decorations included these little tealight jars

Another little pressie given to the happy couple was a box for the bulky bits that they wanted to keep

and in it I added this little 4x4 inch book with the story of The Dress in pictures
From the first photo when my daughter said "yes to the Dress" to the final fitting with her daughter in her dress. The resin dress was bought from Artful Days.

This next project was among my favouites - a little "shrine" from a kit from Tando Creative (with added extras).  Although the original design by Andy Skinner was intended to be a lot grungier, When I attended the original Ministry of Mixology weekend and completed Andy's project, I had a thought that this would be ideal for my daughter's wedding. I think I was proved right

There are more things made but I need to find the photos

So that was our Wedding of the Year.  Everyone said they had a great time

Memory Book For My Daughter's Wedding

This is a project That took a lot of hours! I was working on this sporadically between other projects and finally worked out how to use my new video camera. Now I need to work out how to edit the film - baby steps Helen.

My daughter was married to her beloved on May 4th and I did make a lot of the decorations for the reception as well over the last 9 months or so. Of course I couldn't publish pics of these until the wedding.

First up though is the Memory book that I managed to get uploaded to Youtube and share here.

Bleeding Art - A GDT spot

Hi everyone,
I had some amazing news last month, my Halloween tags won me a GDT spot on the amazing mixed media challenge blog, Bleeding Art.  Picture the little happy jig I was doing.  Off went the email to the very talented Cathy Frailey to accept and back came the brief. "Shiny and Sparkly". Oh my!
I had a few loose ideas come and quickly go again. Those that know me, know that this kind of crafting doesn't come easily to me. I am happiest getting dark and grungy but I have been getting some practice in lately with the feminine look. With a daughter who is a true girly girl and granddaughter following in her mum's footsteps, I have had to take into account their tastes when making for them.

The project for Bleeding Art that I finally decided on was a shrine/wedding arch for my daughter's wedding next year.
Without giving too much away, this matches her colour scheme and the vibe she's aiming for.

I used a Tando Creative arch substrate that I was able to acquire at a recent "Ministry of Mixology" weekend. This particular kit is not in the shop yet but there're plenty more to choose from. It has been painted using Decoart media line and chalk paints/mediums to give a weathered look finished off with a clear wax to seal and for a bit of a sheen.
Added lace and pearls from stash. The floor covered with hessian.
Threaded battery operated lights through the lattice for added shine and sparkle.

The bride and groom have been painted cream with a lustre medium added then a glitter medium through 2 different stencils. The little plinth the bride and groom are standing on was made from greyboard covered with paper then added the same lace, some ribbon and pearls to finish. Some little "diamond stars" stuck to the back.

As I have had to keep this a secret, for obvious reasons, my daughter hasn't even seen this yet. I hope she approves.

A big "Thank You" to the ladies of Bleeding Art for allowing me to join them this month as a guest DT member. Looking forward to seeing everyone's entries into this month's challenge of  "Shiny and Sparkly"

I'd like to enter this into the challenge at

A Special Card

A friend of mine was to wed her dream man therefore a card needed to be made. This is that card.
Visible Image stamps came to the rescue here. The words on this stamp are just so beautiful. The clean lines I have given the card are for Karen and Drew, Karen's style of crafting is clean cut and the grungy finish of the stamp fits my style of crafting,
The stamp here is called Hearts Entwined. Stamped in blue onto a heart shape die cut and ink distressed with DI.
The back ground cuts are made using my cricut. Three of the frames from the "Frame of Mind" cart.
The colours chosen as these, I knew, were part of the colour scheme, ivory and blue.
The sparkle - well that again ties in with the occasion and there's always going to be bling where Karen is. The flowers are a beautiful royal blue from stash.
A bit showing the corner detail better.

Inside is another Visible Image stamp, Fairy Tale Ending. I'm afraid I shook a bit here and the stamp didn't stamp as well as it normally does. That's my fault not the stamps. I was in a rush to get it finished. This is 10 mins before it was to begin it's journey to the happy couple

We all have our mis-stamps, don't we?
Both these stamps are available from that fabulous bricks and mortar and online shop - That Craft Place

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at
