December Birthday

There's more than one birthday in December.....although the shops will have you believe otherwise. Until I started making the odd card, I had to buy birthday cards in November for the two December birthdays we have in this family. Christmas cards take over the card shops don't they!
This card is for my step-daughter's birthday next week.
I saw this design sometime last year and promised myself I'd have a go, when I could find the time. Today was that day. So armed with a tutorial on youtube, a ruler and pencil and the other "normal bits and bobs", I set to work.
The pics aren't the best. Guess what I forgot to check the stocks of - lightbulbs! Took hubby's word when he said there were plenty :(

The silver "lace" is stamped and heat embossed as is the sentiment inside. Lace and ribbon with some pearls on the points. MS punched butterflies, spritzed with purple and glittered. It was easier than I thought it would be and it is just that little bit different. It's good to do different once in a while :D.

I would like to enter this into a couple of challenges

Merry Christmas part 2

Well, Christmas morning has come and gone. I must've been good for at least some of the year because I've received some fabulous jewellery from hubby.
The family that have in-laws have all gone to visit them and there's just the three of us for lunch - which is cooking.
Time to get on here and post a card I made for my step-daughter and her partner. Again, it had to be an angel - that's the family name after all.
This is actually Remembrance Angel from Rick St Dennis.
Coloured with promarkers, a touch here and there with glitter pens and then some glamour dust.

Keeping the design simple so as not to detract from this gorgeous image. The papers are from stash - a glittery paisley print which I think look like angel wings, and two different gold printed vellums.as well as a shimmery piece of pale green - to pick up on the image's colours. Some die cuts from a cream glitter card and a heat embossed greeting.

Merry Christmas

Good morning all
Whilst I don't do Christmas easily, I do not inflict my beliefs on others and those of my family that do celebrate get the cards and gifts as normal.
I made a card for my hubby. It might seem a strange picture - but then my hubs is a bit strange as well now. After living with me - it was to be expected? He loves pigs and he is an Angel - by name anyway. He is my Angel and has been my rock throughout my health problems. What better image than this that I found in the store of Rick St Dennis. I had to have it for him. Here is "Pig Angel".

OK I did trim him a bit - forgot to measure the card before printing and colouring with my promarkers and glittery gel pens. oops.
I used the the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches as my inspiration. My Minds Eye papers, some pearlised silver card so that the colours loosely resemble his fav footie team of Hearts. Some stickles and flower soft. Some die cut and punched snowflakes. Done.

Last Minute

Hi everyone
It's time for a new challenge again over at Sparkle & Glitter with Rick St Dennis.

Last Minute Shopping is the theme this next 2 weeks.
I made a last minute type Christmas card with a really sweet image. Yes, go on scoff! Not often you'll see sweet in this cubby hole. Nevertheless, Isabella, Last Minute Gifts got inked in and made into this card.
I used the sketch over at Corrosive Challenges for my inspiration.
The papers are a mixture of different companies. Just to get that pale icy blue sky look.
Isabella herself was coloured using promarkers. The snowman has icicle stickles daubed over him and the furry effect on Isabella's boots and Santa's facial hair was done using flower soft. Puffy stuff on Santa's hat.
MS punches used and some narrow ribbon threaded through. The flowers have been lightly coloured with PMs aswell and secured with jewel brads. Some extra bling added in the corners.

Now all there is to do is invite you all to join in the challenge over at Sparkle & Glitter so we can come ogle at your eye candy. You never know - you could well be in with a chance of winning some images from Rick or from our fabulous sponsor this week - Stitchy Bear.

Colour Challenge at Smudgy Antics

Good day everyone. Well I hope it is for you out there.
How's your preparations for next week going? Have you got everything sorted? Well in this busy and bustling time, The Smudgy Antics / Smeared Ink team are hosting a really simple challenge and you have TWO weeks to enter. Can't be bad!
Simple I say, because it's a colour challenge. Anything goes as long as you use at least 3 colours from the palette.
Even the colours are named so there can be no confusion.

I went with a card - to add to my stock

The rubber stamps this month from the Smeared Ink Rubber club came in handy here. They are still available in digi format of course over at the Smeared Ink Shop.

We have a few stamps being used here
The Bat Garland
The Gothic Christmas Tree
Not So Killer Santa
Spider Wrapped Present
Skull Wrapped Present

All coloured with promarkers
The papers are from a selection from BBP, Believe.

As I said - Two Weeks have been given this time. Can you think of a good excuse NOT to join in?

Looking forward to visiting those blogs and getting me some eye candy - so much less fattening ,  lol

Enjoy the coming festivities, how ever you and yours celebrate and stay safe. See you just before we ring in the New Year

Delicious Doodles - Anything BUT A Card

OOpppps my bad, I set this to auto post knowing that I'd not have access to my main pc for a couple of days. I forgot to check to see if it posted. Guess what.....

It's Team A over at Delicious Doodles to host the challenge.
This week it's
Anything BUT a Card

Wall Hanging time for me in the Cubby Hole
I used Skully Christmas Wreath for this.

Plenty of hessian, some TH diecut pine leaves, the image all layered up on some chiffon covered cardstock.

The rest of the team have worked their magic and some fabulous projects have been made.
Now all there is to do is for YOU to come show us what you have made.

Don't forget the daily contest - somewhere in the blog hop there is a new image that just rolled out that day when you find it post on that blog and then rush back here and post what the image is and where you found the new image - you must be first on BOTH blogs to post in order to win the image - you will also win the new image from Rick's blog - yes there are 2 images per day being rolled out. The blog roll can be seen over on the left, starting with Rick's "Airless Chambers" blog and ending with Nataliya's. Only one more after this!!

That's the copy paste bit, lol.
Boy, have I got a lot of catching up to do. Blogs to visit and ogle at all the creations that I've only glimpsed at. My Thursday night will be dedicated to all these outstanding jobs to do. Thank you all for bearing with me. Another tag from me for our last day. This time it's the turn of Cold to Trot to get inked in. Your mum must've warned you never to touch yellow snow! Is this the reason why?

Ok, I admit - I did trim a bit down his LHS

this shows the dimension more and the sparkle created on the BG using embossing powder.

Yet again - running late and the post will be edited - one of those jobs I was talking about.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.
Off you pop now to see Nataliya and I'll see you soon.

Another quickie, this working lark really eats into my crafting day, this time I went with a card. I used the sketch over at Critter Sketch Challenges for my inspiration.
The image is one of the new ones that Rick has rolled out these last 12 days, Surrender Rudolph.

I decided to go with "Grinch" colours here using my promarkers. I will add the sentiment later. I can't get "Let's do lunch" out of my head.

I'll be back to edit the post and give more details.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.

Another quick post and another tag for today
This time it's the turn of I Got Decoratin To Do to get a look in on the action.
I used real baubles to decorate this haha
coloured with promarkers again. I felt she should be wearing a mismatch of clothing hence the multitude of colours

Not totally happy with this but too late to change it now

I'll be back to edit the post and give more details.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.

Distress IT with Smudgy Antics

Monday - and this should have been up earlier - oops. I got in from work and went to my bed instead. These things happen, eh?  Better late than never ?
Smudgy Antics this week are presenting you with a very easy challenge this week, one that many of you do anyway with projects.
DISTRESS IT
relieve some stress by distressing items to make art.

You can stick with paper crafting or you can go three dimensional.  The more creative, the better.  We love it when you guys and gals think outside the box!

I made a gate fold card. I wanted to follow the sketchy challenge as set by the Smeared and Smudged Forum this month.
Smeared Ink Grumpie stamps from the Occasions Set came out. The digital version is available here. Love these little fellas.
The front
This front bit follows the sketch

Card stock and papers all got sandpapered, I don't have one of those special tools, then attacked with distress inks.
The inside

The little fella stressing over his fairy lights was masked off ready for mister eggnog to be added in the background. Coloured with promarkers with all those lights being given the glitter gel pen treatment. Tore the image sheet out and more distress inks on top of more inked torn paper before adding to the decorated interior.
OK - now it's your turn to de-stress and distress. Let's see what you got for us to ogle at by linking up at Mr Linky on the Smudgy Antics Blog.

Day 10 of the Creepmas Blog hop with RSD

Hi and welcome to the tenth day of the first annual Creepmas Blog Hop with Rick St Dennis and his wonderful EDT ladies - we will be hopping for 13 days starting Saturday Dec 1, 2012 with new projects and new images every day for 13 days. That's the copy paste bit, lol.

This is a really short post as I do need to sleep before work

I made a tag today featuring Creepmas, An Early Thaw

I'll be back to edit the post and give more details.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.

Day 9 of 13 Days of Creepmas with RSD

Hi and welcome to the ninth day of the first annual Creepmas Blog Hop with Rick St Dennis and his wonderful EDT ladies - we will be hopping for 13 days starting Saturday Dec 1, 2012 with new projects and new images every day for 13 days.

That's the copy paste bit, lol.

Wow, day 9 already!  THAT day will be upon us sooner than many realise.
My next character sums up much of what I think of the commercialism that has elbowed it's way into what should be a time of joy and goodwill. How many have taken out 2nd mortgages or gone into debt just to "keep up with the Jones'"? Just to get their "little darlings" the latest toys that will be forgotten in favour of the boxes?
Anyway enough of my prattling. You may want to see what I made?
Another card. This time following the sketch over at Feeling Sketchy.

an Easel card featuring Bah Humbug. A very Scrooge type figure I think you'll agree.
I must admit - I think I might forgo the dead rats on my wreath.
The image was coloured with promarkers before all the distressing started.
The BP has had ""Bahhhh Humbug" printed on. I'm going to have to get me a rubber stamp before next year.
Then we have three strips of dry embossed and ink distressed DP.
The embellishment - well I felt this totally fitting.

The three ghosts in "A Christmas Carol" and a small length of Marley's chain.
The sentiment on the base, that also forms the "stop" is another of Rick's images, Merry Creepmas, Bones

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.
Off you pop now to see Nataliya and I'll see you tomorrow.

The Eighth Day of Creepmas with RSD

Hi and welcome to the eighth day of the first annual Creepmas Blog Hop with Rick St Dennis and his wonderful EDT ladies - we will be hopping for 13 days starting Saturday Dec 1, 2012 with new projects and new images every day for 13 days.

That's the copy paste bit, lol.

What have I got today for you?
Two projects, one image.
First up is an altered chest of drawers. The other twin of one I did last month as part of a creepmas gift/ornament swap on Smeared and Smudged.

The pearlised silver card was dry embossed before purple perfect pearls was applied. Spritzed with water to seal. The front and drawers were painted purple before the lining of the drawers and the addition of my image. The area between the drawers has a lilac ribbon stuck down and pearls on the ends to seal and neaten.

I Am Too An Angel is the image I used today.
Greys and purples promarkers with a hint of distress ink.
Then a few fluffy and sparkly bits - well most Angels I know love their bling.

I was kinder to the image for my next project. The tag to be given with this chest of drawers.
I even gave the image a new tutu. Lilac ribbon mirroring the wings harness. Mounted on more pearlised silver as the tag base.

I used jewellery jump rings ad tiny brads to achieve this. More feathers for added texture. That die cut is from a range of Die'sire dies.
The flower soft on that rather wonky halo is seen better here as well as the glitter pen on those gnashers and head dress stars.

I hope you are enjoying seeing all these projects as much as I'm enjoying making them. I thank you for all your kind comments it makes it all so much more worth while.
Off you pop now to see Nataliya and I'll see you tomorrow.

Prince of Christmas

Firstly, if you're looking for my Creepmas Creation for today, it's down one post. Why not go see anyway if you're just visiting on the off chance.

Now for The Prince.
Rick St Dennis dreamed up and drew this gorgeous depiction that is not your run of the mill Santa. He has been elevated to royalty. Jewel colours please says the man. What can be more royal than purple?
So began a card that most definitely is not in your traditional Christmas colours. Coloured with promarkers with touches of perfect pearls painted on. The fur is flower soft.

The layout of the card he resides on was taken from Merry Monday's challenge #20 sketch.

I mirrored the purple and golden colours of his outfit in the papers and ribbons.
The tiny nail art gems reflect a myriad of colours ranging from purples to deep jade. Feathers etc from stash with a sizzix feathery diecut.  Maybe I should have added a tassel as well? oh well.

There is a fabulous challenge starting over at the Rick St Dennis Challenge blog this week. Christmas with lots of white. Not enough white on this for me to post there, doesn't mean I can't join in the fun though.
