A Mini Mini Book

Good Morning everyone.
No, I haven't mistyped my heading. This truly is a Mini, mini book, measuring just 6cm square with a 2cm spine. It is my project this month for A Inky Mess as part of their design team that I have been lucky to be chosen to join.

This month we are being sponsored by Luna Girl, a treasure trove of digital vintage ephemera.
I have used "Bring your Wings" and vintage postcards 2 to make this little project.

The substrate is part of the mini book kit from Tando Creative together with a couple of small butterflies and Textures 1 from their thins range. Some decoart modelling paste on the diamond shapes, some small pieces of builders mesh between the butterflies then some decoart paints to colourise the front.  Some art stones adhered with heavy gel medium for a bit more texture.

The Luna Girl images were adhered back and inside

with the book pages being a mixture of DP and the postcard images, attached with book binding glue to the ribbon covered spine.

A couple of brass charms completed the look.

Please don't forget to take a look at the gorgeous projects my teamies have made using the gorgeous imagery from Luna Girl then come back to the A Inky Mess blog to enter your project so that we may come visit you.

AIW Mini book

Morning all.
I hope you're all enjoying the unseasonable sunshine, I know I am.

Today I'd like to share a little mini album I made for a swap, held in a facebook group I'm part of . The brief for the swap was "no more than 6 inches" but can be any project you can dream up. Tag, ATC, Card, Altered item, Book ..... anything. Well this little book measures 6" x about 4" but it is also quite deep. The recipient has received it now, so I can share.

Many pictures follow so I hope you'll bear with me.
The papers are all from Vectoria Designs from their Alice in Wonderland collection. Other bits and bobs from stash. The bookplate on the spine is from Tando Creative.

you can also see the string on each of the inserts between the main pages for private journaling. this is possible because the base of each page is card folded to form a double open ended sheet. One end is adhered to the spine page holders leaving the other end open.

Another Tando Creative Mini Book - third of three

Good morning from a wet and dreary Scotland. This is going to be one of the worst days this week apparently following two days of relatively warm sunshine. That's the way the weather flows at this time of year.
Anyway, enough of the weather even though the bad days give me more time in my cubbyhole, onto the third and final little mini book in the set from Tando Creative. This one, again, is different. I tried to use different techniques on all three.

This time I have dry embossed the cover first then applied crackle paint (Decoart), scraping back over the raised sections so that the size of crackle would vary. When dry a layer of phthalo blue paint applied, slightly diluted, to both sides. Quinacridone violet added to the edges with water towards the centre.  The larger crackled areas had  raw umber antiquing cream applied and wiped back when dry. All then sealed with ultra matt varnish. The embellishments on the front are from the Tando Thins range - Scribbles. These were triple heat embossed with stampendous aged ochre embossing enamel, also available from Tando. The words from Illusionary Artists (France Papillon) Perfect words.

A Mini Book - second of three

Good morning all. The snow here has almost melted - I hope that's the case where you are and that you are safe and warm.
I have the second of the Tando Creative mini books to share today. Still keeping the theme of using Illusionary Artists stamps from Chocolate Baroque. This time the plates Auntie Margot and co and Rock'n Rust from France Papillon.

Front and back cover - outside

The book base was first sealed with white gesso then various Decoart paints used to colour with similar colours to that on the stamp bord then stamped with the crackle stamp from the Rock 'n Rust plate.
The covers were then wrapped with black netting. The edges were hidden under those stamp bord elements. These stamp bord pieces coloured with distress oxides before stamping with Auntie Margot and her wayward relatives.

Inside cover - similar colours to that on the outside

The pages were made from the same prima pad as the first book in the same way except keeping an opening at the top for some tags.

The netting providing a handy space for tags or what ever takes your fancy.

A few beads from stash

This looks like noughts and crosses to me.  Noughts to note the positive thoughts and crosses to note down the negative thoughts that might invade the mind.

One more mini to do to complete the set.

This is another entry into the guest DT for Illusionary Artists challenge

I'd also like to enter my little book into the challenge at

It's February

I have managed to squeeze in some more playtime. I have dropped a day at work so now only do four. More me/play time .....yayyyy
I have completed a few more projects.
First up is a little accordion booklet. The front and back made from greyboard - Mixed Media boards from Tando Creative.
One side features a flourish stencil from Tando and stamps from Chocolate Baroque's April Fairy set.
It was made using just two colours in various tones - orange and green and a mixture of paint and ink.
The other side - again paint and inks but now three colours, cream, grey and black. Using Chocolate Baroque's Lace fragment set.  I masked the main image before "2nd generation" stamping the borders and "3rd generation" stamping the bare paint.
I cut two long strips of cream card 9.5 cm wide from an A3 piece of card and joined them. Concertina'd them up at 8cm wide and connected the two boards with this with some thin cream ribbon to tie on each side.

Each page was then given a mat of decorative paper ready to receive either a photo or some journalling.

Go Dark - with Delicious Doodles

Good morning peeps
Today is the first of September and therefore heralds in the start of a new challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  This month the challenge was chosen by Avril on behalf of myself - DARK! Be that dark colours or theme is down to interpretation. I went with both and made a little mini book.
Picture heavy so hope you'll last out until the end.
I used images from Teri's Etsy shop, of course......... The Skully Chess Set and The Tombstones.

The front of the book - hand stitched from scratch using black cardstock - features faux leather as demonstrated by Sheena Douglass.
The corners are black card, die cut and rubbed over with gilding wax.

The inside covers are papers from Teri as well

Journaling/photo mats on the reverse of the tombstones.

The other papers are all from the BoBunny Enchanted range with the exception of the checkerboard which is from DCWV Immortal love stack.

We hope you can find the time to join our challenge.
