Day 31 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en

For full deets on this Freaking fangtastic Blog hop organised by Smeared Ink and The Smeared and Smudged forum, please hop on over to Terra's blog. All the info on the days sponsors are there as well as any other info you think you might need.  The blog hop roll is there in my side bar.

Good morning folks. How are we all? Are you all ready for tonight?  THE day when zombies, ghosts, skeletons as well as a motley crew of other creepies will wander the streets and no one will bat an eye lid. Tales of Horror will be broadcast on the TVs, almost throughout the world, to help bring those in their homes into the celebrations.
Well I made it - all the way to the finish line. Over 31 different projects made, photographed and blogged (a couple of days had more than one piece). A mammoth task and there were a few times I nearly gave up. You Horrifying Hoppers kept me going and for this I thank you.
My last project is a tag. I realised yesterday that I had not made a single reference to the Master of the Classic Gothic Horror. That fantastic author that so many of us love and who brings joy to our lives through the power of the written word. I speak, of course, of Edgar Allan Poe. I felt his poem "The Raven" had to be the one for my last day piece, just because.

The Raven stamped image is from Lost Coast. Stamped with versamark onto pale grey card and black PanPastel applied with a sponge before tearing out.
The word "Nevermore" was compiled by stamping, onto the same grey card, three sizes of feathers (Sheena Douglas) at various angles. The (memory box) die cut tree was stamped with a crackle stamp (more Sheena Douglas). Black feathers (with a greenish tinge) from stash.

All these elements were laid over a tag that had first been painted with black gesso and some scrunched up tissue applied and left to dry.

Well that's it from me folks. Phewwwwwwww. I'm glad to report that my craft room looks almost back to normal after a massive tidy up yesterday.
What will tomorrow bring?

Good morning folks. How are we all? Nearly at the finish line. Just think, tomorrow is the BIG day. This last month has been a blast. I can see me spending a good few days at the PC trying to go look at everyone's projects because I haven't had time to hop AND blog. One or the other when working f/t as well for me unfortunately. Still got the mess of papers, stamps and other paraphernalia all over my craft room although I did manage to find a space to put together this project for today.
Doesn't look much maybe from the front except for the cute little topper he sports, made from one of the Hallowe'en papers I have. Just can't remember which collection off the top of my head.
The template has been sitting in my pc files a while and I can't remember where from but Leigh, fellow SI DT teamie has a similar one on her blog. A couple of homemade skully pins, dark orange ribbon, black feather and a trio of black roses complete the top hat.
What is seen as the skull is rotated though?

All images are from the Smeared Ink Voodoo rubber stamp collection drawn by Rick St Dennis
Stamped with stazon onto tissue paper and coloured with pencils. Modpodge used to adhere to the gesso covered paper mache skull. The teeth were highlighted with smooch ink.

It still remains a mystery to me what tomorrow might bring. Thinking cap needs to be refreshed with more coffee I think.
Thank you Hoppers for visiting again. I can't stress enough how much your fabulous comments have spurred me on each day. Until tomorrow then ..................

Day 29 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en

Good morning folks. How are we all? Nearly at the finish line. Just two more days to go. Oh my, am I going to have to spend some time sorting through the mess of papers, stamps and other paraphernalia that is now my craft room. I have been trying to tidy as I go but fighting a losing battle some days. The weekend is soon enough says that little demon in my head.
Anyway. What have we here today? A pair of shoes? Not just any shoes though. A pair of witches shoes. Because of the stamping rule of this hop, I have opted for a gaudy pair of orange shoes - party shoes?
If you want to make some - the template I used can be found at the blog Skip To My Lou.
I added a strip of black paper, cut to a point and curled up at the toes.

Just plain orange cardstock for the main shoe and paper from MME Halloween Sparkles for the lining.
The stamps used are from Inkadinkadoo - Gemstone Halloween.
I haven't added embellishments as these are destined to be sweetie filled for young children. I don't want any choking hazards in young hands.

Another quick and simple project added to the pile of treats for the local children.

Again, thank you to those loyal hoppers that have been leaving their fabulous comments throughout the month.
Now to think on what I can make for tomorrow lol
See you then

day 28 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en with Smudgy Antics

For full deets on this Freaking fangtastic Blog hop organised by Smeared Ink and The Smeared and Smudged forum, please hop on over to Terra's blog. All the info on the days sponsors are there as well as any other info you think you might need.  The blog hop roll is there in my side bar.

Good morning folks. How are we all? Nearly at the finish line - I can see it.......just! In amongst the mess of papers, stamps and other paraphernalia that is now my craft room.
Today's post is all about the start of the second week of the Smudgy Antics fortnightly challenge.
The challenge is to create a project using at least three of these colours ....
Before I go on, I must thank Suzanne for her timely inspiration. "Only something that was picked up on pinterest" but it helped me out no end with the finishing touch here.
This started life as a simple jar. Orange paint on the inside to colour. Mixed with a bit of glitter - Thanks LB for that idea. The outside has been surrounded with stamped images from the Smeared Ink "As Death" set, stamped onto tissue paper and applied with glow-in-the-dark modpodge. The four plates fit just nicely round the jar.
The top has various fibres wound round.

Taken in the dark with the battery operated tealight "lit". OOps a bit of camera shake there.

My "Death Angel" created from one of these

The legs and shoulders were heated gently with my heat gun so they could be bent. Added feathers and stitched a hooded cloak made from cobweb lace.
Suspended from the rib cage is the tealight using clear nylon thread. This solves a dual problem - keeping the Death Angel in place and as a means of accessing the tealight to turn it on and off.

Looking forward to seeing more of your colour projects over at Smudgy Antics

Once more I thank all you horrifying hoppers and your lovely comments this month. You deserve a lot of credit for staying the course.
With any luck - see you all tomorrow.

Good morning folks. Still hanging in there?
Another quick make for me - because the project I had attempted is STILL drying. May be ready for next week the way things are going round here. Oh well, such is life and crafting.
A couple of bottles already for some heinous concoction to be added to.
That cranberry coloured bottle has a label cut from the G45 steampunk spells stack
This bottle was tarted up with some sheer fabric with stamped images from Prickly Pear

Not a lot more to add really.
There is only 4 more days to go. The month has gone really quick hasn't it! Are you ready?

Thanks for staying with me peeps. The lovely comments really help me carry on although some of the ideas are drying up for me.

See you tomorrow for week 2 of the Smudgy Antics Colour Challenge.

Just a simple ATC today while I recover my energies for the final spurt to the finish line.

All the colouring is done using Pan Pastels. Featuring stamps from De Stempenwinkel - moon with cloud, Elusive Images/Chocolate Baroque - trees and Aly's Inky Fingers - all the rest.

Day 25 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en

For full deets on this Freaking fangtastic Blog hop organised by Smeared Ink and The Smeared and Smudged forum, please hop on over to Terra's blog. All the info on the days sponsors are there as well as any other info you think you might need.  The blog hop roll is there in my side bar.

Good morning folks. I know there are not that may still with us on this gruelling marathon. Numbers have dwindled a lot. Not long to go now though.
Today - a tidy up day for me. My desk looked like a bomb had hit it. Bits and pieces of paper, card, projects started but not finished. You name it - it was there amongst the collection.
So two finished projects today.
The first - my Smeared Ink 's Hallowe'en Grumpie Fatbook now has all the images residing in it. The last one had to be on a double page as it is wider than 4"

Both the floor and walls were over stamped with the mesh image from Smeared Ink's "Quoth the Raven" set using versamark, after masking off my little f(r)iend, and Pan Pastels rubbed over with a sponge.
The little Grumpie was coloured with promarkers
The candle in the image was replaced with a real one.
The skull from the Quoth the Raven set was stamped in latte ink and more Pan Pastels used to colour.
The words are from Carta Bella "Happy Haunting" stack

My second project is using images that were printed out at the same time as yesterday's Hedwig candle.
This time it's the turn of the "Headless Hessian" of Rick St Dennis' to make a come back to haunt you all. As an accompaniment to the wraith wreath made earlier this month.
As you can see - the image takes up more room than can be seen straight on.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments that are still being left.
See you all tomorrow

Day 24 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en

For full deets on this Freaking fangtastic Blog hop organised by Smeared Ink and The Smeared and Smudged forum, please hop on over to Terra's blog. All the info on the days sponsors are there as well as any other info you think you might need.  The blog hop roll is there in my side bar.

Good morning folks. How many are still with us on this gruelling marathon? Numbers are dwindling me thinks.

Another quickie from me today. Working full time takes it's toll on my creative time and projects are now being made each night before. Still, only a week to go before the big night!!
A few days ago, I previewed this image as coloured only. Rick St Dennis had wanted his EDT to colour the witches Hedwig and Hannah for a special deal available on Airless Chambers for those two days. Anyway, to keep the story short, I've only just got round to using Hedwig.
I printed the previously scanned image twice onto tissue paper. Attaching the tissue to a carrier of cheap copy paper allows the tissue to go through the printed without tearing or scrunching . Cut out my images and attached to my candle using my heat gun.
One image on each side. Some black lace pinned on top and bottom.
To decorate the empty space - some fiery jewels. Pinned on as well so that they can be easily removed before lighting the candle.

As I said - quick and easy. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend. - Trying to get ahead again for next week - at least, that's the plan.

Thanks for looking and for all your kind comments so far.

Day 23 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en

Good morning folks
Today I have for you an altered coffee tin. It's been sitting on the side patiently awaiting a make-over for a few weeks. Until, that is, it fell to the floor as if to say "Oi! It's my turn now!!" Who am I to argue?
Something a little different as well. Some soot stamping. I love the spooky effect this can produce.
The main stamps used were designed by Rick St Dennis for Smeared Ink's Rubber club. They feature in the Haunted Places set 2. Other stamps are from De Stempelwinkel and stamps from an unknown source - bats and moon with bats.
I scanned the stamped cover before applying. I know how hard it is to get a pic of a round object.

The finished tin - I took pics in different lighting conditions - each shows different properties.
With flash
without flash
the other side
and the top detail
Some narrow braid applied to the bottom and some fibres to the top with some bat sequins.
I don't know what I'll use it for ... yet. Maybe a sweetie jar for those trick or treaters to dip into..... maybe not.

Thank you once again for all the kind comments from you - the merry band of Horrifying Hoppers.
Tomorrow brings ..... who knows?
Thank you for looking

Good morning folks
How are we doing? Fed up and tired out yet? Not long to go, just over a week in fact.
A little ATC as my project for today.
A single stamp used here. One from a collection by Darcie's.
An ATC sized bit of heavy weight card with 6 layers of black EP applied. When still hot, the stamp with versamark on it was pressed in until cool.
The details of the stamp were picked out by painting with pan pastels then a light dusting of vintage plum gilding wax applied with finger tips.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to look and comment on my Hallowe'en projects so far this month. Loves you all xx

Day 21 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en with HDH and Smudgy Antics

Good morning folks

As promised yesterday I have a double bill for you today.
It's the start of a new challenge over at Smudgy Antics and the second week of the one at Haunted Design House. Normally I would have a post each for my DT pieces for these two challenges but, as this is the 31 Days of Hallowe'en, I have decided to combine them into one.
I hope you're sitting comfy. Which order do I post? Coin flip time!
ok
First up Smudgy Antics. The challenge this next fortnight is a colour challenge.
Dark Grey, Magenta, Dark Green, Black and Dark Orange
For my project this week I continue with my Fat Book of Smeared Ink's  Creepy Li'l Grumpies.
This week featuring
Frankie and our little Super Hero

The FB page was covered with black gesso and texture added. When nearly dry, Frankie was stamped into it. This created the slight hollow to house the image. This in real life looks like he is emerging from the pit.
While letting the gesso fully dry the image was stamped, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut out. The scars are coloured with magenta gel pen. When the gesso was dry a light rub over with versamark and some pan pastels lightly brushed over then sealed with hair spray. I used glossy accents to attach Frankie then added brads in the required colours. Some copper wire was wound round (electricity and Frankie go together, don't they?)
All the colours are used here

Next up our little Trick or Treater all dressed up. Again coloured with promarkers before cutting out and adhering to the FB page base of dark orange coredinations. This had been embossed with a couple of folders I have and the raised part - more pan pastels. The little honeycomb of papers are from Carta Bella - Happy Hauntings stack. The bead letters threaded onto a jewellery pin and connected with brads.
Colours here are dark orange, black, grey and magenta.
One more Grumpie to feature.

Then we have Haunted Design House.
The second week of our "Zombies and Creeps" challenge
Sponsored by Simply Betty who happens to be one of the sponsors of the 31 Days of Hallowe'en blog hop.
See why I decided to combine the to posts now?
This card features Dracula Summoned from the new images drawn by Abigail Larson for the Limited edition Steampunk collection.

Sorry about the picture quality. Taking pics at night does not provide the best light.
Base paper is from DCWV - Heirloom stack. Then there's lace, some velvet and satin ribbons. The lilac sheer fabric to simulate the image curtains over flowing is  just a length from stash, twisted and adhered before glueing the image down with pinflair glue.
The image mounted onto some embossed and sanded coredinations.
The sentiment made up of individual letters, stamped with stazon onto parchment type paper. Torn out and adhered to the lace.

Which challenge are you going to enter? Both I hope.

Thank you for visiting and see you tomorrow with another project.

I'd like to enter my last card into the challenge at

Good morning folks
Just a little ATC for you today, created mostly digital. Although I did print it out as well.  It features images from two of our sponsors for this little shin-dig.

One is Altered Pages. So many collage sheets available - and not just for Hallowe'en, and much more.
The background image and "sentiment" is from the "Night Terrors sheet".
The archway - That's from the Haunted Places 1 rubber set available from Smeared Ink from drawings by Rick St Dennis. So a right old mish-mash
So yes - a quick and simple project for today.

There will be more tomorrow as it's both the start of a new challenge at Smudgy Antics also my week to post for Haunted Design house and their current challenge.
So see you tomorrow folks.

Day 19 of 31 Day s of Hallowe'en

Good morning folks

It's Delicious Doodles Day again for me in the Cubbyhole. Way back, about the time when Teri decided to be one of the awesome sponsors of this fabulous, but arduous, month long hop, a plan was hatched whereby each of the DT members could join in but commit to just a few days each. To produce a project on behalf of Delicious Doodles and show projects made using the Scavenger hunt image up for grabs.
Today's image is the magnificent Grim Reaper.
I have decorated another box. On the top, I used both the Grim Reaper and the Pile o' Bones paper.

Five of the 6 Tombstones adorn the front side

Some stenciled Andy Skinner skulls on both the sides complete the images used.

The box itself is an old cigar box. Given a coat of bright orange acrylic paint. When totally dry, a coating of PVA glue was applied and allowed to set until a skin had formed. Next a coat of slightly watered down purple acrylic paint. Heat gun at the ready and crackling commenced. When satisfied with the effect, the box was put aside to completely dry before applying the stencilled images. More drying time before adding the tombstones then sealing with dead flat varnish.
The top - The Pile o' Bones paper opacity was altered and the colour of the Grim Reaper was adjusted, digitally merged the two before printing my panel.then giving a light dusting of distress ink.TH fragments were stuck on this with glossy accents. It needed just a little something more. Some decorative metal corners lurked in my stash. These were not quite the colour I wanted so they were given a coat of  multi coloured gilding flakes (Indigo Blu Lancashire Rose) before attaching with more glossy accents. Finished.

Thanks for looking, I'm having a blast but it's hard work coming up with something different each day.
More tomorrow. See you then. Take care all.

Day 18 of 31 Days of Hallowe'en with Delicious Doodles and RSD

Good morning folks

A double billing today for just two of the fabulous sponsors of this wild fiesta.

First up is my DT project for Delicious Doodles. It's Team A's turn to host the challenge this week at the Delicious Doodles Challenges.
This week the challenge is to make a Hallowe'en project that is NOT scary. No freaky Zombies or grisly remains. No frightening ghoulies or Vampires turning in their graves. Well I think I managed that. With the help of Gothicka. A brand new image that you should be seeing in the shop tomorrow.

Isn't she a stunner!!!
Here she is on the card made with her. In a SteamPunk type setting using G45 papers from the Steampunk Spells stack. Even down to her own little book of Steampunk Spells. That book was made with scraps and the front cover stuck on.

The cogs were given a coating of frantage EP in Aged Hunter and Aged Marine. Some purple and teal feathers, some chain to make sure that book isn't appropriated by the "wrong sort" and a couple of charms.
The card base and the image edges were given a dusting of copper pan pastel for that little bit of shimmer.

The second offering I have for you today is an image from Rick St Dennis.
An image that has been in the vaults for a while
We have Hedwig the Witch. Airless Chambers has many more versions of this little lady and  her sister Hannah. As well as an amazing project from Lady B!!  There is also a special purchase offer there valid for only a few days. You don't want to miss out, do you?

Good morning. Second half of this fiesta begins. First hurdle completed!
Thank you, once again, all you Horrifying Hoppers for the kind words you have left so far, they really do help the soul to keep going.

Another of our sponsors is Delicious Doodles. Have you been by the shop lately? If not, why not?
This little treat box features three of Teri's images. Oldies but goodies.
The design for the treat box - well the honours go to Silvey Shim. Follow the link for the easy tutorial.

I couldn't resist this piccie but it does help show the depth is enought to get some goodies in there. OOps forgot the brad closure covers. That'll be rectified before use.

I was going to use pumpkin buttons as closures but Mr Geist appears to be playing his tricks again. Can't find them anywhere. So improvised with plain buttons. The top pic shows the mini buttons used to act as shanks. This will allow the tie to be wound round and not tear the card stock.  Googley eyes adhered to the buttons and the top closure flap.
The image is one of the Halloweenies - Pumpkinhead. The DP is from the MME Halloween Sparkles stack

On the other side a little darker. A dish to grace any Hallowe'en party. A nice big helping of Eyeball Wormetti. Topped of with a traditional Hellowe'en Greeting.
The DP for this side is from MME Lost & Found stack.
All images were coloured with promarkers.

Thanks for looking, I'm having a blast but it's hard work coming up with something different each day.
More tomorrow. See you then. Take care all.

Good morning. Half way through this fiesta. First hurdle completed!
Thank you all you Horrifying Hoppers for the kind words you have left so far, they really do help the soul to keep going.

As promised yesterday I have a project made using an image from another of our glorious sponsors. Today is the turn of a Rick St Dennis image to grace my blog. I also have shared this on the RSD  Airless Chambers blog for today

I must give credit to Kristen Swain for the inspiration here for my

Wraith Wreath

The actual cost of this decoration is negligible, I was surprised in a way. A cereal packet destined for the bin, an old book that has been sitting in the attic for years and well out of favour, some paint and hot glue are all that is needed for the base. What you add to it is up to you.

I used Decoart paints in black and Quinacridone Gold mixed with a touch of copper metallics. Both paints watered well down to form a wash. Dipping my book page cones in randomly and setting aside to dry before attaching to my circle base with hot glue.
There are two layers of  grey sheer fabric added that were singed on the edges with a flame.

The circle of DP is from the Carta Bella "Happy Haunting" paper stack.
Onto this was added my Headless Hessian

Coloured in all the shades of grey I own which is quite a few hahaha.
Torn out and ink distressed with rusty hinge DI before attaching this to the wreath.
Final touch is adding a means of hanging between yet this and another circle of cereal carton on the back to neaten.
Simple but effective?

Thank you for looking and see you tomorrow
