Oh How I Love Thee!!

Well, who else would I create a pink sparkly fru-fru piece for in the midst of all this Hallowe'en celebration? Had to be some one I love dearly. I mention no names  hehehehe.

If you're looking for my Hallowe'en hop day 11 project - please scroll down to the previous post.

This piece also fits nicely into the current challenge over at Through the Purple Haze challenges. The weekly challenge site that are offering up a grand prize near Christmas for those that complete an entry into each of the challenges.
This week the sponsor is Indigo Blu. Now I just happen to have "a few" of their gorgeous stamps so it would not be right if they didn't get used.
This week's project is an altered cigar box that has been taking up a corner of my craft room for a few months.
First step was to give the box a light sand and paint it. First coat was pink then a white wash applied. The white wash was wiped off in patches when still wet to give a distressed look. Then some brown ink applied to the edges.
The front of the box had the cigar makers name debossed into the lid - that had to go. I used a sheet from my 6x6" Authentique "Lovely" pad - tore all the straight edges off and inked with vintage paper DI. Securely adhered to the box before getting stamps, inks etc out.

The swirly papttern on the top is the Indigo Blu Baubles Flourish stamp. Snow flakes and baubles were masked off on the stamp before inking with expresso ink and masks removed before applying the stamp to project. Pink bling stuck on over all this.

The front panel was given a few rose/rosebuds from the Indigo Blu Clockwork set. These were stamped in "Latte" ink and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out and layering over more of the debossed cigar makers name. Then crackle accents applied to seal the rose panel.

The sides - they feature the Indigo Blu large Snow flake stamp. These were stamped with glue and gilding flakes applied.
The final touch is that rather large home-made flower from a length of lace rescued from an old dress of mine years ago and used only on special projects, After fashioning the flower, little ivory pearls were also stitched on randomly. A couple of pearly stick pins added and done.

I am entering this altered box into the challenge at
